Advice for Brides Who Don't Wear a Lot of Makeup

I hear it all the time -

“I don’t wear a lot of makeup day to day. Should I still hire a makeup artist?”
”I think I’ll just do my own wedding makeup.”
”I’m worried it will look too heavy.”
”I just want to look natural.”

Sound familiar? Are you saying any of these things to yourself?

I’m here to tell you that if you are - you absolutely should be hiring a makeup artist for your wedding day! Here’s why:

• Natural looking makeup requires a lot of skill and specific products to even out your complexion while still giving you that natural skin-like finish

• After the day is over, all you’ll have left to look back on are your wedding photos and video. Good makeup is an important part of this! Lighting and photography can have a tendency to wash out your face. A great makeup artist will be able to enhance your features so it translates best on camera. Certain products have flash-back (that horrific white cast that appears on your face when flash is used), appear to be the wrong color on camera, or are more prone to wear and smearing. Don’t chance it!

• You’ll be crying, laughing, and sweating all day and night - celebrating and enjoying your wedding day! You shouldn’t have to worry about your face melting away throughout the day. A skilled makeup artist will be able to take that worry away from you!

It’s extremely important to me that you love your wedding makeup, that it still feels like you, AND that it looks great on camera! Open communication and feedback is really important to me to make sure we achieve this.
